Overdue update: Previous project: checking email tutorial with Chinese audio directions and English subtitles & changing icon tutorial as a side tutorial
Client: Mother & general public of Macbook computer users who would like to know how to change their icons
Con: Mother has already learned how to check email & email server used in tutorial is not commonly used by many people today, abandoned the idea of making email tutorial
Progress:

Applications:
Firefox - finding images
iMovie - arranging and editing video clips
Keynote - editing images, decorating tutorial, embedding video clips
Current project: email tutorial
Client: Macbook computer users who would like to know how to change their icons
Actions today:
Worked on video tutorial:
video tutorial became about teaching something different than original idea, became about teaching Macbook users how to change background (more specifically how to find out the screen resolution/wallpaper size)
created headers to separate different sections/steps of tutorial - found images from Internet and took screenshots, edited and created headers using Microsoft PowerPoint
edited and arranged video clips, cut unnecessary clips
added more subtitles and transitions
text input problem in iMovie - met with Mrs Lindsay for help, suggested solutions: create clip explanations & talk over it
New Client & Project
I have decided to find another project, on account of the fact that making a video would be redundant, since Mr. Johnson can already explain everything very well.
New Project Ideas:
-an electronic planner for my mom & a tutorial on how to use it - materials: Microsoft Excel, iMovie, and Quicktime Player
con: more comfortable with a written planner
-a tutorial on how to check email
-con: can just change website language for her to read
-a tutorial on how to manage bookmarks on Delicious
-con: Why mess with something that already works? - Bookmarks

June 3rd, 2011 - Setting up interview with Mr. Johnson
Today, I explained the project and asked Mr. Johnson if he would like to be my client, how I could help him with CAS. Mr. Johnson said that it was a bit late to start, since school was almost over. People just needed to update their CAS hours and reflections on the wiki. However, Mr. Johnson recommended that I could create something that could be used next year, explaining how to use the wikispace for the soon to be 11th graders. I was thinking of creating a video, to explain how to use the wikispace, using Quicktime player's screen recording option. We set the interview for next week.
